Middleburg, VA — Attwood Equestrian Surfaces is pleased to announce their return as the CIC** sponsor at the Cloud 11~Gavilan North LLC Carolina International CIC and Horse Trial to be held at the Carolina Horse Park March 22nd - 26th, 2017 in Raeford, North Carolina.
"We are very excited to again host a weekend of world-class competition at the fourth annual Carolina International and as we look forward to showcasing the best eventing has to offer," said Will Faudree, Member of the Carolina International Organizing Committee. Faudree added, "This will be the fourth time they have sponsored a CIC division and we are delighted at Attwood Equestrian Surfaces's commitment to make this competition the success that it is."
"We really love being a part of this competition," said Nick Attwood, President of Attwood Equestrian Surfaces (AES). "What keeps us coming back year after year is not just a commitment to the park, but to the riders, and of course, Will. We are family."
Attwood and Faudree met in 2013 when AES was contracted to design and build an extraordinary gallop on Faudree's training facility Cloud 11 Field of Dreams. The 9-furlong gallop with a 450-foot rise to the top winds its way around the perimeter of the fields next to Gavilan Farm, Faudree's home base. Not a traditional oval but a winding path that leads horse and rider to the jump ring at the top of the property. Top eventers from all over the United States come to train at this elite facility.
It was about the same time when the gallop was being finished that the plans were being realized for the very first Carolina International. Faudree asked Attwood to be one of the first sponsors for the CIC competition. And the rest, as they say, is history.
"It's important that we support our riders by holding quality competitions like the Carolina International," remarked Attwood. "We want to give our riders the tools so they can shine on the international stage. The Carolina International certainly does that in spades. We are proud to be a part of it.
